A charity shop in Honiton is offering brides-to-be the chance to buy a discounted wedding dress.
The Children’s Hospice South West shop in the High Street currently has around 25 second-hand dresses in stock, as well as a range of flower girl dresses, children’s wedding wear and accessories including shoes and veils .
Manager Lynne Whitehall and her team have created a special bridal section in the store and are selling pre-loved dresses for just a fraction of the price of a new dress.
Lynne said: ‘We have some really great dresses right now and I would encourage anyone getting married this year to come and take a look.
“These dresses have only been worn once and it’s wonderful to think they’re going to have another moment in the spotlight.
“It really is a win-win situation, especially at a time when we are trying to encourage sustainable fashion and people are financially strapped.
“Not only will you be getting yourself a great dress, helping the planet and saving money, you’ll also be helping Children’s Hospice South West provide lifesaving care to local children and families.
“We’ve already sold a few dresses and the brides have loved them. They left so happy because they had gotten a great dress at a fantastic price and knew they were helping a local charity.”
The boutique will display its range of wedding dresses until March 6, when it will then showcase dresses and accessories for the mother of the bride.
Later this spring, the store will be promoting a wide range of prom dresses.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
