An incredible artist has given our favorite Disney princesses a makeover, with new, very stylish dresses.
Through her Instagram account @wecallitdisney, Marta Sánchez García has transformed the outfits of some of our most beloved princesses, including Princess Jasmine, Cinderella and Belle de The beauty and the Beast, giving them a whole new look in the process.
While Marta has created some stunning Disney movie montages before, it was the release of Disney’s new Midnight Masquerade doll collection that prompted her to change up women’s outfits.
She told POPSUGAR: “I based the redesigns of the princess dresses on the dolls that Disney recently released.
“The dresses and designs in the collection are just amazing, but when I realized that they would only be visible on the dolls, I wondered, ‘What would the princesses look like in these new designs in the real movies? ? ‘
“So I went ahead and drew them with the dresses.”
Marta’s stunning designs include Snow White’s new “Hollywood diva” look, as well as a sleek new look for Belle, with a black corseted dress and yellow skirt.
And, to coincide with Pocahontas’ 25th birthday, Marta redesigned the Disney character, shifting away from beige and blue, colors often used to represent her.
Marta explains that these colors “make her / the object boring and unattractive”.
“They forget that Pocahontas has all the colors of nature in it, they forget the colors of the wind.”
Marta adds: “Her film is one of the most aesthetic and you can see the blue-pink-purple palette everywhere, including the leaves surrounding it.”
Giving the princess a new rainbow effect hairstyle, makeup and dress, Marta added rainbow colors to the end of Pocahontas’ new dress – and it’s amazing!
The artist also gave The princess and the Frog‘s Tiana a new green dress with flowing sleeves and gold details and created an “extra” outfit for Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, as well as the creation of outfits for the Disney characters Aurora, Esmerelda and Megara.
Finally, Marta created a ‘Midnight Masquerade Cinderella’, featuring a pale blue dress with navy accents and a huge bow, as well as a jeweled mask and a new updo.
“I can totally imagine a modern Cinderella wearing this to the Oscars,” Marta said.
