Famous dress designer Asma Gulzar, who has worked with Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, Nusrat Bharucha, Pooja Batra and reality TV star Devoleena, has been honored by the Russian Cultural Center in New Delhi to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav . This prize was awarded to eminent personalities to commemorate 75 years of Indo-Russian opposition relations.
Asma Gulzar has been working since 2008 and has her own fashion brand named Aida Couture with stores from New Delhi to Dubai. Asma says, “Fashion, like any other art, evolves over time. Yes, it’s true that you get inspiration for designs from different sources. But everything you visualize and design has a different story of its own.
Asma Gulzar, who graduated from NIFT in 2003 in the field of fashion design, was also awarded the British Parliament Prize in 2018. She has also been a guest on BBC Radio. Apart from this, she has also received the prestigious Stardust Global Icon Award and Being She Universe Award.
Asma is best known for her indofusion creations. Asma says: “I have always emphasized variety, which is why there is something for everyone in my treasure trove. From the wedding collection, from the winter collection to the fashion collection, whatever you want is available. You can choose what you want.” Asma says she considers herself lucky to have had the chance to work with stars early on and not have to look back. However, she says her path has not been easy. She had to work hard to make a name for herself and even today women need hard work to make a name for themselves in this field.
After working for 5 years in the industry, Asma Gulzar started working as a freelance fashion designer. Soon she will launch a new collection – Malak.
“Malak is also a full-fledged rainbow of Indian beauty and the collection tells us the sublime story of a generation in tune with the world but also connected to its roots,” adds Asma.
