
After months of speculation as to who will design the royal wedding dress, Meghan Markle has chosen a designer. This job is no small feat for any designer in the fashion world, as the dress will become both a business card and a cultural piece for years to come.
Many of the world’s most renowned fashion houses began planning the creation in hopes of being selected to design Meghan’s dress.E! just confirmed that with the help of Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s best friend and stylist to the stars, the exact designer has been selected. The two worked hard to find inspiration and create the perfect dress.
“It was Meghan’s first fitting with the designer. and a chance for her and Jessica to browse through a number of different models. “Alongside the dress planning, Jessica walks Meghan through a number of wedding day details, helping to gather ideas and resources from her impressive contact book.”
Apart from Meghan and Jessica, only Three other people know who designs the royal wedding dress. We can assume that one of these three is Meghan’s future husband, Prince Harry. A source reveals that “Harry has been sparse, giving the girls plenty of private time to have their meetings with the designers and of course pick out other wedding elements. Harry kind of made it clear that he wanted make it Megane.”
“During the date, Meghan was able to clarify what she liked and what she didn’t like. Some of their favorite design elements include embroidery and sleeves,” such as her sister-in-law Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress.
Meghan once gushed that Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s simple wedding dress was “all goals.” In a 2016 interview, Meghan revealed that her ideal dress would be “very streamlined and relaxed. Classic and simple is the name of the game, maybe with a modern twist. Personally, I prefer whimsical or subtly romantic wedding dresses. “
Meghan also gave some insight into who she could have chosen to design her dress noting, “Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are my favorites for their uniqueness and beauty. And I will always be a fan of Ellie Saab. J. Mendel is also spectacular, especially for the more structural designs.”
