Laura Kenny and her husband Jason had an intimate wedding in September 2016, but the bride still took the opportunity to don three different bridal looks for the occasion.

In an interview with SALVATION!, the Olympic cycling star – who has partnered with a premium pet food brand ORIGIN – spoke about her wedding, honeymoon and family life with son Albie and the companion dogs Sprolo and Pringle. Wondering if she regretted her wedding dress, she said, “I wouldn’t change mine. I loved mine.” She then revealed that she was “adamant” about the style she wanted – but that changed over the course of the day!

The 29-year-old wore a stunning dress with a fitted waist and an A-line skirt that she tweaked to create several different outfits for the ceremony at St Alban and St Paul’s Church in Macclesfield and the reception at Hilltop Country House.
“I was absolutely adamant that I wanted sleeves for church and wanted it to look traditional. And then I kept saying, ‘In the evening I don’t really want sleeves. , I just prefer to remove them. ‘ and my wedding dress designer said, ‘No problem. We can do it,’ ”Laura said.

The beautiful bride’s first bridal look featured long lace sleeves
The result? An elegant strapless dress with a long sleeve lace jacket and another with cap sleeves – awesome! “I kept changing the little jacket on the top. I had two different jackets, the last look was I take it off completely. So when we did our first dance, I just took it off.”
Laura accessorized with a simple pair of silver earrings and a bunch of pink roses, while Jason looked handsome in a gray striped three-piece suit with a pink rose bodice.

The couple – who met in 2008 after the Beijing Olympics – took a very relaxed approach to planning their wedding. “If we couldn’t get something we wanted, I was just like, ‘Well, that doesn’t matter.’
“We did it on such a low budget. Just because I thought the only thing that really mattered to me was church and marrying Jason,” she said.
The same goes for their honeymoon when they chose to swap faraway tropical destinations for a motorhome trip through Europe with their two dogs.

“We had been to the Olympics and had been away from them for so long that I just wasn’t ready to leave them at home. But I never wanted to fly with them,” said Laura. After Jason suggested a motorhome to her, she said, “I thought we could go on our honeymoon for about four weeks, and the dogs can definitely come. And that’s what we did. took them and they have traveled all over Europe. “
But not everything was smooth! She joked, “It took a little while to get settled in,” especially since they didn’t immediately realize there were two double beds inside their accommodation.
