Former world number 1 Simona Halep has revealed she bought her wedding dresses from a store in Italy. In September, Halep married her longtime partner, Toni Iuruc. “I just picked them from the store in Italy,” Halep told the Australian Open, as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“I went there. I just liked them (the dresses) so I didn’t ask anyone. I’m not very involved in that stuff, but I like to enjoy the beautiful things that I like. So I never look at what’s trending at the moment, I just look for what’s good for me and what I like.
That’s how I chose my wedding dresses.”
Halep didn’t have the wedding dresses made especially for her
“So you just took them off the rack, didn’t you have them done?” asked the interviewer.
Halep replied, “No, I just picked them from the store.” Meanwhile, Halep made a perfect start to the 2022 season. Last week, Halep beat Veronika Kudermetova 6-2 6-3 in the Melbourne Summer Set 1 final. It was Halep’s first title since 2020 and she was absolutely thrilled.
“The body is great, I feel great,” Halep said afterwards. “I had five tough games and my body is good. I don’t feel so tired. Physically I’m in the right place. Confidence is growing. I feel confident.
I feel like I have the game to win games. “I’m not so scared when I lose serve because I often lose serve, but I’m confident in my return. I’m not scared there. I didn’t even think I lost the service, I just focused on the return.
I focused on every game I played. I was very positive.” Halep is now ready to play Australia. Halep, runner-up at the 2018 Australian Open, has been drawn to meet Magdalena French in the first round.
